


The survivors are either separated, disabled or forge new friendships in order to survive. Whereas a an average book would focus on the explosion, Goldie does it differently and speaks about the long term effects of the accident. In the second part of the book a cargo plane crashes into the apartment block, (this is based on a true event that happened in Amsterdam). In the first part of the book they interact with each other. The book is about a handful of characters who live in the apartment block Nightingale Point There’s Elvis, who as a disability, Mary who has an affair and is taking care of two teenagers, and a girl who loves one of the teenagers. In theory Nightingale Point should be a book I’d embrace but … well we’ll get into that. I think it’s great when seemingly unconnected destinies cross. I’ve stated quite a few times on the blog that I am a fan of books with multiple narratives.
